Ever since I heard ''Scream'', it gave me enough reasons to wait for this new EP.
The long-standing Christian metal band Skillet has released their fifth studio EP After The Storm. It is a mixture of metalcore, Christian metal, and hard rock, serving as lead singer John Cooper's outlet to express his grief, anger and battle with depression.
The songs like ''Scream,'' ''Lift Me Up,'' and ''Grave Stomper' are the heaviest from the six on the extended play, with ''Lift Me Up'' being the strongest on the EP.
While "After The Storm" and "Come and Find Me" are more harmonic songs, with Cooper's clean vocals dominating the songs, and "Heaven Help Us" is a rock-ballad, something that Skillet has historically done well with. They managed to make great heavy tracks as well as calmer, emotive songs, perfect for whatever you'd like to listen to.
Skillet, in my opinion, yet again proved that they still make great music, and that they aren't gonna stop anytime soon.
Right now, Skillet are on tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their Comatose, album with special guests Escape the Fate & Bad Wolves. Current tour dates are as follows:
