The Atlanta-based rockers have just dropped a new song titled "Split" and a music video to go along with it. This track sees a deviation from the normal Silly Goose sound fans are used to hearing, but it doesn't stray too far to the point of being unrecognizable. This offering shows a more vulnerable, emotional side to the band rather than just the fun party anthems we've come to expect. The song is slower, with a more lowkey and melodic approach in order to highlight the lyrics and feeling of the song, about not being able to move on.
The chorus showcases vocalist Jackson Foster's singing ability, compounded with his already well-known rap skills in the rest of the song. The song picks up the intensity in the latter half, with constant repeated screams of the title of the track, producing a very impressive seventeen-second-long scream before launching into the usual ferocity found in the Silly Goose catalog. This release goes to show that the band is versatile and keeps things fresh; no, they are not just a one-trick pony.
"Split" comes off of Silly Goose's sophomore album Keys to the City, releasing on October 17th via Blue Grape Music.
