Slipknot Announced their 25th Anniversary Box Set and It Sold Out Instantly

The limited run of 100 box sets sold out in what seemed like minutes.

The countdown timer on Slipknot’s website finally came to a close today to reveal a gigantic 25th anniversary box set for their 1999 self-titled LP. Despite being $250 a pop, it sold out within seconds, as it was limited to a mere 100 copies. 

Curated by Slipknot’s very own Shawn “Clown” Crahan, the set contains six vinyl filled with “blood” and covers 59 tracks from the band’s debut, with 40 of them being previously unreleased, including the Indigo Ranch demos that were produced by Ross Robinson and their live sets from Hartford in 1999 and at the Webster Theatre in the UK and a hometown show in Iowa in 2000. The set also comes with photocards of each member, never before seen photos and collector’s artwork. 

While this is the perfect gift for any diehard Maggot, only pressing 100 copies feels a little jacked up considering the band’s massive popularity. I feel for all the fans who missed out and will inevitably see one of those hundreds up on eBay for an exuberantly ridiculous resell price.
