Amid their mini tour across Japan following their recent reactivation, Sylar have released their newest single, “Raw.” The Queens-based nu-metalcore outfit teamed up with director Takahashi Kazuki for the video, opting for a local creative approach while performing throughout the country before returning to North America in March.
Sonically, the track leans into a more melodic direction without abandoning the heavy rap delivery that defines the band, recalling cuts like “SHOOK!” and “Same Dance” from their 2018 album Seasons. Andrew Baylis and Richard Wicander return in their respective production and mixing roles, while legendary engineer Ted Jensen handled mastering duties. The lineup suggests that the band’s forthcoming studio album, reportedly being developed independently, will likely feature the same core creative team.
“Raw” will be available on march 03 at midnight EST on major streaming platforms. The official music video is already live on the band’s YouTube channel and can be viewed below.
