Stand up and say what's up, as WWE's R-Truth will unfortunately be leaving the company once his current contract expires. The comedic character took to Twitter/X on Sunday to reveal the news:
Im sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride, Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you 🙏🏾

In a subsequent report, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful would confirm that R-Truth's tweet was not a prank or a hack, and that he would in fact be leaving. R-Truth, real name Ron Killings, has been with the company since 2008 in his most recent run, racking up two stints with the WWE United States Championship, as well as being the undisputed master of the now-retired 24/7 Championship. Most recently, he won the World Tag Team Championship with The Miz at WrestleMania XL last April, with the duo collectively known as The Awesome Truth, and just had a showpiece match with current Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena at the most recent Saturday Night's Main Event.
What some younger fans or those just getting into wrestling in this most recent of boom periods is that R-Truth was in the company during the Attitude Era, performing as K-Kwik from 1998 to late 2001, before being released in 2002. During this time, he teamed with former D-Generation X member and modern-day head writer for WWE SmackDown! "Road Dogg" Jesse James, and their entrance theme was penned by Killings himself.
See for yourself below:
Nu metal's heyday and the Attitude Era of pro wrestling run parallel to one another, and while Killings' own music tends to lean towards traditional hip-hop, let's remember that the man responsible for Little Jimmy could - and still can, frankly - bring the heat with his tunes. Even if his goofy shenanigans and PG-era hijinks aren't your speed, Killings' departure is something of a shock, as given the length of his tenure and his commitment to the bits over that time, it seemed all but certain that he'd be a lifer.
In either case, may the next step for R-Truth be a successful one, as he's earned every last one of the flowers he is getting these days.
