USvsTHEM and Coyote Take On The Racist War On Drugs On "Spanish Gold"

The rap-metal outfit's latest diatribe is pointed firmly at the US's hypocrisy in regards to indigenous folks.

USvsTHEM aren't afraid to get their hands dirty when it comes to their modern, socially-prescient take on nu metal, as evidenced by previous efforts such as "Met Gala" and "The Cleanse." On their latest effort "Spanish Gold," they get right to the heart of the truth: the war on drugs is bullshit, and the corruption runs through the veins of the US of A.

The music video, directed by moozs1, is a history lesson in a music video, with stills and archival footage accompanying the track to explore the horrific things our government has done to indigenous folks, going all the way back to the Aztecs in the 16th century. Just because we're seeing racism in full force with ICE raids and massive government layoffs doesn't mean it's a new creation, and Emilio Rojas and his crew know this.

All that said, the band isn't beating the Rage Against the Machine allegations with this one, as this riff sounds like something that could have come from Evil Empire-era Rage, and that is intended in the best way possible.
