WATCH: Short North Get Stupid Feeling Like A "Fred Durst"

This brand spanking new band from Columbus, Ohio know how to bring the OG nu metal flavor.

There are few things we love here at The Nu Metal Agenda more than Fred Durst and bringing you new music. So, imagine our delight we when stumbled across the music video for "Fred Durst" by Short North. Haven't heard of Short North? We've got you covered.

Named for the neighborhood just short of University District/Ohio State and north of downtown Columbus, Short North rose from the ashes of "insomnia-core" outfit Pray For Sleep and specialize in "nu-metal n' more." The band is currently in the midst of releasing their debut EP one track at a time.

It's on our TV, and our timelines too / TikTok, Instagram, and the Facebook groups / I'm sick of this shit and it's only getting worse / But imma keep it rollin' like my name is Fred Durst

While "Fred Durst" is the second single from the EP, it has quickly eclipsed the lead single "iCANTFEELANYTHiNG," racking up over 30,000 views in the month since its release. And it's easy to see why: yes, the name Fred Durst carries more cultural cache than it has in hot minute, but the song more than earns the nu metal associate with its mix of in-your-face rhymes, grooving bass, and riffage to spare.

Like Cheem and Silly Goose before them, this is your chance to get in on the ground floor. At the time of this writing, they don't even have a Bandcamp page. Click here to keep up with the band and pre-save their newest single "Face Me." Short North have no shows lined up at the moment, but that's sure to change as they drop more music in the coming weeks and months.
