WATCH: XLOV's Rui Serves To Papa Roach's "Last Resort" At Fanmeet

At a recent fanmeet, the genderless group behind "SERVE" threw it back to the beginning of the millennium.

Of all of the K-pop groups to lean into nu metal, much less certified hood classic nu metal like early Papa Roach, XLOV wouldn't be my tenth choice in a month of Sundays, but at a recent fanmeet, the genderless idol group tapped into their early Aughts nostalgia.

The four members did a runway walk to a random song, having to improv a routine on the spot. When it came to Rui, the second-oldest and main dancer of the group, her song was "Last Resort" by Papa Roach. This is especially fun, considering the nu metal staple was released on March 7, 2000, whereas Rui was born Chen Kuan-jui on December 28, 2000.

Gonna let that one sink in for a minute... and we're back.

Without flinching, Rui walked with a switch, hitting a split at the front of the stage to the delight of the crowd. The rest of her routine featured twerking, a kip-up, and prancing that was more than a shade shady, and the crowd, as well as Rui's fellow members, rejoiced in the level of serve on display.

XLOV's latest EP I,GOD is out now via 257 Entertainment. All I'm saying is that these four could break out some nu metal in the vein of Kittie or even Scene Queen and the K-pop/nu metal agenda would be forever grateful.
