Wes Borland Inspired Decapitated? Vogg Affirms... Sort Of

Though Limp Bizkit is no stranger to waves of hate, if anybody gets some sure love, it’s their enigmatic guitarist Wes Borland. From his imaginative stage outfits to his incredible licks and riffs, he’s inspired many… including the Polish death metal band Decapitated?

In a recent excerpt from The Garza Podcast, their guitarist Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka explained that Borland came to influence the divebomb riff in Decapitated’s most popular song “Spheres of Madness”.

“You’ll never guess from where I was inspired by that… I had a friend who listened to Limp Bizkit,” Vogg says, much to Garza’s excitement. He then goes on to mention how the whammy bar divebomb in the track came out of hearing Borland’s playing.

“I’m not inspired by Limp Bizkit,” he clarified, “but he uses the whammy bar in some of the songs and it sounds like, so powerful, you know? It’s a cool trick.”

While Vogg himself doesn’t claim to take inspiration from Limp Bizkit, Borland’s signature style definitely got some creative wheels turning. It’s still so cool to hear about a nu metal act inspiring someone in a totally different genre despite the bad rep it gets.

Vogg also went on to describe filming the music video, how it was promoted on MTV, and articles coming out in Poland about their appearance overseas.
