South Korean rock outfit Xdinary Heroes are just over two weeks from their ninth mini-album IMPULSE, and the quintet have now dropped a highlight trailer featuring instrumentals from all of the EP's tracks.
Of particular interest to the nu world is "Give Up The Ghost," which we found out has Bring Me The Horizon's Oli Sykes and Zakk Cervini credited as composers. The video focuses on bassist/vocalist Jooyeon, who lays down an in-the-pocket bass line to keep things feeling heavier. Elsewhere on the EP, "Slashhh!" has a dubstep and EDM feel to it, while "u and me in arguments" feels like it could have come from the melodic metalcore of the mid-Aughts, with guitarist Gaon laying down riffs for days.
All told, it's looking like a diverse album to begin their time without their former leader Gunil, who exited the band in August. While VILLAINS are calling for OT6, the show must go on, and this sampler shows that the band haven't missed a step in spite of it all.
