Fans can expect the 5 -piece from Japan to remain active in 2026, as they have made their intentions for the upcoming year known. Mere hours after wrapping up their final performance of the year and completing their 2025 tour, the band posted new tour dates scheduled for April of 2026. TOUR26 Downer Absolutely No One will consist of 12 shows across 10 different prefectures in their home country of Japan.
Following this, DIR EN GREY also revealed a special 2-day long show entitled MORTAL DOWNER that will take place on July 18th and 19th at the Tokyo Garden Theater, adding that more information will be released at a later date.
They concluded their trio of announcements by unveiling plans for their 12th studio album, MORTAL DOWNER, to be released sometime in 2026. More details will be revealed later. No release date has been confirmed, but one could assume that the special shows at the Tokyo Garden Theater that share the same name as the new album could perhaps be an album release show, meaning a potential release date in the summer of 2026.
Their previous album PHALARIS came in 2022, but their most recent work was a single called “The Devil In Me" that they dropped on April 24th, 2024.
