Knocked Loose And Denzel Curry Drop Surprise Collab "Hive Mind"

Knocked Loose and Denzel Curry throw down the gauntlet with this thundering, breakneck crossover.

Hardcore/metalcore mavericks Knocked Loose just dropped "Hive Mind," their new single featuring rapper Denzel Curry. The surprise collab, first teased on social media 24 hours prior to release, is fans' first taste of new music from Knocked Loose since 2024's breakout You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To which included "Suffocate," their Grammy-nominated team-up with Poppy.

As for the track? It's a banger.

Put simply: this is why we here at The Nu Metal Agenda do what we do. Songs like this are why this website exists.

Stampeding out of the gate with the rallying cry "Fuck it up!" before switching into a hip-hop break, "Hive Mind" threatens to be some kind of metalcore/trap mash-up. But Knocked Loose and Curry know better. That's too easy. Too predictable. No mere ProTools cut-and-paste "collab," what ensues is a full-on metalcore onslaught, starting, stopping, and winding through the band's various modes of attack as singer Bryan Garris takes aim at the hive mind—those too consumed with self-loathing to think for themselves: "No sense of self or thoughts of your own" he later adds "I don't care that you hate yourself."

Curry enters with speed and precision, making things loud and clear for those in the cheap seats: "Fuck your favorite band and favorite rapper / I ain't asked for shit and you ain't asked for." No stranger to rock and punk, Curry navigates the chaos like he was born to do this. Meanwhile, guitarist Isaac Hale channels his inner Chuck Schuldiner with some old school death metal leads. Not content to drop a verse and dip, Curry sticks around to showcase his versatility in a taunting breakdown ("Jump when they say jump / Stomp when they say stomp / Run when they say run / Sorry bitch I ain't no pawn," then flip the script for the crushing final section: "When I say stomp you gon' motherfuckin' stomp, bitch / When I say jump you gon' motherfuckin' jump, bitch." This track is not to be missed.

Starting in May, Knocked Loose will join Grammy-winners Gojira in support of the Metallica on their M72 Tour. The European/UK tour will feature a mix of one-night-only engagements and "No Repeat Weekends" with additional support from Pantera and Avatar. In addition to a recently added performance at Graspop, taking Dee Snider's spot, the band will also hit up Slam Dunk Festival, Primavera Sound, and Rock for People as well as both iterations of Sick New World. On June 9th, they'll play a special show in support of Bring Me the Horizon. At this very moment, Denzel Curry can be seen, along with Drug Church, supporting Deftones on their EU/UK tour.
