New Shavo Odadjian Project to Release First Single "Paradise" Next Week

It's a little of [System Of A Down's] 'Toxicity' all throughout this record — that kind of shit. You wanna bang your head, you wanna run in the pit, you wanna go crazy, but you wanna smile while you're doing it and not be angry.

The good news coming out of System of a Down camp is, well, not that System's getting back together.

Bassist Shavo Odadjian has announced that his solo project Seven Hours After Violet (S.H.A.V.) will release its debut single "Paradise" next Thursday, June 13. SHAV posted a short teaser for the release on its official Instagram.

In addition to Odadjian the group comprises guitarist Alejandro Aranda, drummer Josh Johnson, vocalist Taylor Barber (Left To Suffer), and Winds Of Plague guitarist Michael Montoya aka Morgothbeatz, who has also produced & written songs for the likes of Jonathan Davis, ISSUES, Travis Barker, JuiceWrld, and Lil Xan.

Last October, Odadjian revealed that SHAV's debut LP will feature 16 tracks, with Track 12 featuring Jonathan Davis. Speaking with the 96.7 KCAL-FM radio program "Wired in the Empire" about the forthcoming record last April, Odadjian said he's recording both bass and guitar, and that it's been "fucking cool as hell."

If you know what I've done in the past, then you know the songs I had a part in writing. It's a little of [System Of A Down's] 'Toxicity' all throughout this record — that kind of shit. You wanna bang your head, you wanna run in the pit, you wanna go crazy, but you wanna smile while you're doing it and not be angry.

SHAV will make their live debut at the return of Mayhem Festival on October 12 at the Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino, where they will be joined by Kittie, Jinjer, Poppy, Suicide Silence, and others.
