This weekend was a celebration of music on a grand scale, as the 68th Annual Grammy Awards happened on Sunday night, as well as the announcement of Drumeo's annual awards, and for one particular drummer, there was one hell of an overlap.
Sleep Token's II, part of the mysterious metal-blending titans, notched their first Grammy by taking part in YUNGBLUD's performance of Black Sabbath's "Changes (Live From Villa Park)" from this past summer's Beginning of the End concert. The rousing take on the ballad also featured Frank Bello (Anthrax), Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), and Adam Wakeman (Ozzy Osbourne).

Sadly, Sleep Token missed out on winning for Best Metal Performance, which went to Turnstile's "Birds." This would be one of two awards for Turnstile, the other going to Never Enough for Best Rock Album.
Where Sleep Token and II in particular shone brightest were the 2025 Drumeo Awards, which were given out on Saturday, January 31st. II took the categories of Drummer of the Year, Drum Recording of the Year, and Metal Drummer of the Year, going for a hat trick across all of their nominations.
