Slipknot's Corey Taylor and Clown Square Off on 'Hot Ones Versus'

There can be Only One.

It is no secret that Corey Taylor is one of the most opinionated figures in the rock and metal realm, so seeing him be faced with telling the truth or suffering via the Wings of Death was truly something else.

Such was the situation for Taylor and longtime Slipknot co-conspirator Shawn “Clown” Crahan, as the two are the most recent guests on First We Feast’s Hot Ones Versus. This spin-off of the wildly popular interview show Hot Ones puts two contestants head to head to see who tells the truth and who would rather embrace the heat of The Last Dab hot sauce, all versions of which clock in at over 2 million Scoville units.

A highlight comes when the two are tasked with having to tie an actual slip knot. Neither man succeeds, and so both have to eat a death wing. Corey gets the hiccups from the onslaught of capsaicin, while Clown’s mask purportedly kept all of the heat and sweat inside of it.

“I feel like someone is putting out cigarettes on my face.” - Corey Taylor, 2024

Corey’s past tries to catch up with him, as references to beefs with Machine Gun Kelly and Limp Bizkit become the subject of one round. His callout of singers who lip sync nearly gets the frontman to throw a peer under the bus, but he instead opts to eat a wing rather than bury someone for all the world to see.

The score is tied 2-2 before the final round.

The finale comes in the form of a birthday party for Slipknot’s debut album, which celebrated 25 years earlier this summer. Corey and Clown face off in a pinata smackdown with the first man to break said pinata avoiding the wings of death. Clown manages to decapitate the paper-mache party favor, making him the winner, two wings to Corey’s three, golf rules applying.
