Static-X is gearing up to release their career-spanning documentary, Evil Disco: The Rise, Fall, And Regeneration Of Static-X, in 2025. The band initially unveiled a trailer for the film back in March, but no official release date was provided. However, in a recent interview with Rock News Weekly, bassist Tony Campos confirmed that the documentary is still in the works and is slated for release next year.
"We're still finishing it up, but I think it's gonna be cool," said Campos. "It’ll be a really cool look back at the band’s history and how Wayne [Static] affected all our lives."
The documentary will feature exclusive interviews with Static-X members, as well as input from managers and fellow musicians, including members of Jane's Addiction, Hatebreed, Fear Factory, Sevendust, and Mötley Crüe.
Upon releasing the documentary's teaser in March, Static-X also commemorated the 25th anniversary of their debut album Wisconsin Death Trip, noting that the film would provide fans with a deeper dive into the band’s journey. "Thank you all for 25 years of amazing memories," they wrote. "So much more to come!"
While the first volume of Static-X's Project Regeneration was released in 2020, and the second in early 2024, fans can now look forward to this retrospective documentary to celebrate the legacy of both the band and their late frontman Wayne Static.
