Wes Borland Spent The Weekend In The Studio With Danny Elfman

The legendary composer has once again recruited the Limp Bizkit guitarist for an as-yet-unannounced project.

Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland just spent the weekend recording music with none other than legendary film composer (and Oingo Boingo frontman) Danny Elfman. Soon after, Borland took to Instagram to post a picture of a home studio that included the following words:

Had the pleasure of working on Danny Elfman songs all weekend! This is going to be an amazing album!

In the Instagram post, Borland added:

This is so fun. Thanks for having me Danny! The Fender VI has really been a staple recently and beyond from this record to The Wrecking Crew with @thehaxancloak

Fans may recall Borland performing on-stage with Elfman during his career-spanning sets at Coachella. Borland, understandably, is quite proud of his now-ongoing working relationship with the three-time Grammy-winner, listing Elfman alongside Limp Bizkit, BIG dumb Face, and Black Light Burns in his personal Instagram's bio.

While details about the as-yet-unannounced project are scant, odds are Borland's tracks will be featured on a new solo album from Elfman. Borland makes no mention of any specific film project, aside from his work on the Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista action vehicle The Wrecking Crew, and the only upcoming projects on Elfman's IMDB page are The Forbidden Zone 2, which is still in pre-production, and Disney's animated musical series Rhona Who Lives by the River. While an animated musical featuring Borland on the six-string—and six-string bass!—starring Karen Gillan, Alan Cumming, and D'Arcy Carden sounds intriguing, it would be weird of Borland to refer to it as strictly "an album."

Until then, fans can catch Borland hitting the summer festivals with Limp Bizkit this summer. On bass duties, following the untimely passing of Sam Rivers, is Richie Buxton (aka Kid Not) of Ecca Vandal. Meanwhile, Elfman can be heard on A$AP Rocky's new album, Don't Be Dumb.
