Over the weekend, social media savvy fans discovered posts that include a phone number with the simple message "Poppy has something to tell you." Simply dial the number, 878-2066-POP (878-206-6767), and you'll be greeted with a pre-recorded message that includes an exclusive snippet of her new album, Empty Hands. The message includes Poppy saying today is a beautiful day to listen to music followed by a quick section of a new song played in reverse.
UPDATE: Since the initial drafting of this post, it has been discovered that the message will be updated daily at 1pm PST. (That last bit explains the cryptic follow-up text message callers received imploring them to "Save my contact and call me back at 1pm PST.) The new message features Poppy whispering the following:
"Hey! Can you keep a secret? Probably not. I know how hard it can be to keep secrets. But if you're a good seed, you'll keep this one secret."
The message then goes into an absolutely brutal clip featuring Poppy at her most guttural before slowing down and disconnecting. They even included the sound of a landline phone hanging up.
Longtime fans will know this isn't the first time the enigmatic songstress has gotten interactive with her audience. Back in May of 2017, fans could call an 800 number to hear one of 19 pre-recorded messages. The accompanying YouTube livestream, titled Call Poppy 805-624-667, showed Poppy in a big white chair taking calls from fans "live" on the air. The video has since been unlisted—but that needed stop you from enjoying 36 minutes of signature Poppy weirdness. Check out the video below.

This Tuesday Poppy kicks off her Constantly Nowhere Tour with Ocean Grove and Inertia in Brisbane, Australia. Fox Lake will join her for European/UK leg which starts in March. Later in the year, she'll swing back to Europe and the UK in with Evanescence on their recently announced world tour. Empty Hands drops January 23rd via Sumerian Records.
