A new Psychostick parody has dropped. Again, with a stylized music video directed by Patrick R "Murph" Murphy. This time it's a Tool parody of the self-titled track "Ænema" off 1996’s Ænima. Unlike the Tool song's themes of breaking free from forms of self-pleasure, intentionally or not, Psychostick have made a meta parody that delves into pleasure. Specifically the times between Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas when you’re told to gorge on baked goods and candy.
Some choice sample lyrics include:
Non-stop Christmas / Fructose gauntlet of /
Endless sugar with more sugar / On the sugar plums /
Eat like Santa, now I gotta resort / to taking Tums
If this seems familiar to you, the band did make another nu-themed parody of 1999 B-side "Get This" by Slipknot, aptly titled "Give Thanks or Die." However, in their defense, this song is only about Thanksgiving. If anything, Psychostick has many fall and winter holiday parodies that they have decided to re-release in the form of remixes and remasters in a second collection: The Flesh Eating Roller-Skate Holiday Joyride. This time, they're re-releasing it and shortening the title to The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Rides Again, which you can pre-order on the Psychostick store.
Psychostick will also be headlining Welcome to Rockville.
You can also stream Æt on DSP(s) and in .FLAC and hi-fi formats on Bandcamp.
