The gays with ADHD have been summoned to the dance floor, as Pink Hotel proprietor Scene Queen has pulled back the curtain on the first single from her upcoming second studio album. The bimbocore sensation has invited listeners to her "L-Shaped Couch," and with the invitation comes something entirely different stylistically.
Lyrically, the new cut is a funk-metal "Poker Face," with flirtations of first-time experimentation and double entendres abound. For those looking for something slightly more contemporary, she did shoehorn a Sisqo reference in there, showing that while she takes what she does seriously, Scene Queen does not feel the need to take herself seriously.
On her Twitter, Scene Queen shared a letter expressing her inspirations and influences for the turn towards disco as opposed to her pop-punk first outings with her Bimbocore EPs and Hot Singles In Your Area. The homages to the Black and LGBTQ+ communities are ones that aren't going unnoticed, especially in the current state of the world.
