Silverstein Prep to Release Second Half of Double Album 'Antibloom/Pink Moon'

Silverstein are geared to release the second part of their two-album salvo.

Silverstein's foot as been on the proverbial gas pedal since their explosive debut record When The Broken is Easily Fixed in 2003. This year, they're kicking it into overdrive for their 25th anniversary, releasing not one, but TWO albums before the year is out.

They started the year off strong with the heavy-hitting Antibloom, featuring a solid 8 tracks, with plenty of nu influcenes to be found. "Stress" in particular has a very distinctive Wes Borland approach to it's guitars, and the intro to the album,
"Mercy Mercy" has a hook that would feel right at home next to "Hot Dog".

Take a listen for yourself:

The post-hardcore outfit are poised to release Pink Moon, the continuation to Antibloom and finale of their 2025 effort. In anticipation, they've dropped 3 singles: "Negative Space", "Drain The Blood (feat. Dayseeker)", and "Autopilot (feat. Cassadee Pope)".

"Drain The Blood" is a rager against AI and how it affects actual artists and it RIPS. It's got a feature from Dayseeker, too, as Rory Rodriguez provides some crazy smooth vocals for that second verse and wild screams for the breakdown. I think there's something poetic about featuring a newer band on a track with a theme such as this, because AI is a problem that affects all artists, whether they be seasoned vets or not.

Have a look and a listen below:

"Negative Space" feels more helter-skelter, with guitarist Paul Marc Rousseau commenting "It’s almost like it’s slightly too fast so it’s always trying to catch up to itself. That, combined with the fact that it’s always switching vibes and using contrasting tones makes for a really interesting three minutes.” The companion music video also serves as a narrative continuation for "Don't Let Me Get Too Low" from Antibloom, with frontman Shane Told describing it as "the story of myself playing a madman burying himself in the Las Vegas desert.”

You can check that out here:

And last but not least, you have "Autopilot". The track uses the anxiety of flight, and compares that to a tumultuous relationship. Told explained in a reel on Instagram that he "wanted a strong female voice to accompany me on this", and so they recruited Cassadee Pope, vocalist for Hey Monday. It's much more instrumentally consistent than the other two tracks, but it doesn't lose anything in enjoyability, so I can't complain.

Take a gander:

Silverstein has always been consistent when it comes to the quality of their works, and Antibloom is no different, quickly becoming one of my favorite releases of the year and has yet to waver from that title. However, I'm quite mixed on the singles from Pink Moon. They've still got that quality the band is known for, but they feel less cohesive. I have to hope that the rest of the album will provide the glue, because there's not a lot to hold the singles themes and tones together. But hey, they haven't let us down yet.

Pink Moon will be released on September 12th via UNFD and you can pre-order it here.
