Spider One's 'Little Bites' Set To Debut On Shudder/AMC+ Next Month

Spider One of Powerman 5000 fame has been moonlighting as a filmmaker as of late, and back in October, his second full-length feature film Little Bites had a one-week run in select theaters. The film, which premiered at last year’s Fantastic Fest, stars Krsy Fox (Terrifier 3, Allegoria) as Mindy, a woman with a hungry demon in her basement, with a plotline akin to the original Hellraiser but with vampires instead of kinky demons. Barbara Crampton, Sklaroff, and Elizabeth Phoenix Caro also share top billing, with music done by drummer Roy Mayorga (ex-Stone Sour, ex-Soulfly, Ministry).

The film is set to premiere on Shudder and AMC+ on February 21st, as the film was distributed by RLJE Films and Shudder. For those still on the fence about this latest effort by the PM5K frontman, Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer has the film at a solid 75% with 12 critic reviews, though there is yet to be a posted Popcornmeter rating due to not having enough audience reviews at this time.

On the film and its focus on family and its allegory of domestic violence, Spider One had this to say in an interview with Dread Central:

“I mean obviously everything in the movie is a bit of a metaphor for these real-life subjects, but everything is from a real place and everything is from things that have happened in my life, our life. That’s why Little Bites is so special. And I don’t know, hopefully, people can find, even if you’re not a parent, their own way in.”

In that same interview, Krsy Fox, who is married to Spider One and produced Little Bites, said this about the 1970s period piece that the film is:

“You’re much more isolated in that time than you are now. And people didn’t talk about [domestic violence] the way we do now. Everyone I know is, like, “Oh yeah, I’m in therapy.” It’s not a shameful thing anymore. But back then, you just didn’t talk about it. You just kept yourself. So yeah, it felt very the right decision for this movie.”

Little Bites hits Shudder/AMC+ on February 21st. Check out the new trailer below:
