Even though Mythical Chef Josh can't discern that frontman Griffin Taylor is a chip off the ol' block, this clip - and indeed, the bulk of the catalog of Vended - show that the metal apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The group, which also features drummer Simon Crahan, son of the iconic Shawn "Clown" Crahan, rocked Wacken Open Air in Germany last weekend, and a clip of said performance has been posted to the festival's WackenTV YouTube channel.
In it, the band rip through "Ded To Me," and if any modern band was going to re-capture the raw energy and chaos of Slipknot's 1999 self-titled, it was going to be one with two of that band's offspring in the ranks. The song comes from a single released in 2022, inbetween their What Is It/Kill It EP and their 2024 self-titled debut LP, and serves as a statement of intention.
