In pro wrestling, a “hoss” is a big man, a brick shithouse who can throw dudes around like they’re nothing. In modern parlance, the word “meat” is thrown around just as much as an enhancement talent, and on the All Elite Wrestling roster, two prime cuts of beef are “The Machine” Brian Cage and “The Murderhawk Monster” Lance Archer. As part of the Don Callis Family, named for “The Invisible Hand” who has claimed to have a magic touch that indirectly led to the very creation of the promotion, the team of Cage and Archer took their nicknames, put them together like chuck and short rib, and gave us the juicy burger of a name that is The Murder Machines.
A duo boasting muscles in places some of us don’t have places needs a badass theme song, and leave it to AEW composer and nu metal aficionado Mikey Rukus to provide. The man rarely misses, with choice cuts like the Rage Against the Machine-tinged “All About Tha Boom” for Adam Cole or the DMX-inspired “Cold World” for Eddie Kingston. That said, “Bodies Fall” is the right balance of imposing, heavy, and catchy, all of which make a great entrance theme. Rukus also employed YouTube upstart Sammy SlamDance to help with the theme, as the Nashville native lent his talents to the theme.
The song debuted on the Zero Hour pre-show for AEW’s Worlds End pay-per-view, which aired this past Saturday. The duo teamed with Lio Rush and Action Andretti in a winning eight-man tag effort against the teams of The Outrunners and Top Flight. Here is a clip of the Murder Machines entering to their new theme tune:
The full Zero Hour pre-show is available to stream on YouTube (the aforementioned eight-man tag team match begins around 1:05:40):
