Evanescence Rocks The 2025 Game Awards

The band performed "Afterlife" from the hit Netflix anime Devil May Cry.

This past Thursday night (December 11th), the annual video game awards show The Game Awards 2025 took place in Los Angeles, California. Many celebrities were present, including David Harbour, Dan Houser, Rahul Kohli, and Lenny Kravitz. Those in attendance were gifted a special live performance from Evanescence playing "Afterlife", which was featured on the new Netflix anime Devil May Cry that released earlier this year.

The song starts off with deep blue lighting and smoke filling the stage, a spotlight highlighting Amy Lee as she begins to sing. The backdrop displays scenes from the anime, and at one point, the lighting shifts to blue on the left side for Vergil and red on the right for Dante. The band is in peak form here, and of course Amy Lee sounds amazing and knows how to command a stage. Those who are trying to claim that she was lip syncing clearly do not know the absolute powerhouse of a vocalist that she is - she just always sounds that phenomenal.

Check out the full performance below:

Famous content creator "CaseOh" streamed his live reaction to watching The Game Awards, and very passionately criticized the audience for not engaging with and enjoying the performance at the level that he believed they should have been. He even went as far as to claim that he would be "in the front row butt naked up there doing backflips." Well, that's one way to show your enthusiasm for the band. To be fair though, I can't say I disagree with the sentiment.

Famed video game designer, director, and producer Hideo Kojima was in attendance in support of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach receiving nominations for seven awards. He shared some photos with the band and with Amy Lee herself on his Twitter/X account.
