Before Post Malone or Machine Gun Kelly jumped into the country music world after hip-hop served them well, Kid Rock took the plunge with his 2007 album Rock N Roll Jesus. On that record, he sang the line “I think racist jokes are funny” in the song “Lowlife,” and to say he’s lived the gimmick since would be an understatement. Just in the year 2024, he had some very problematic things to say, including but not limited to the whole kerfuffle about Bud Light’s endorsement of transgender social media icon Dylan Mulvaney. 

At the tail end of the year, though, the Detroit native weighed in on the ongoing lawsuit against both Live Nation and Ticketmaster regarding their, as Attorney General Merrick Garland said, “monopolistic control over the live events industry in the United States at the cost of fans, artists, smaller promoters, and venue operators.” The “Bawitdaba” singer/rapper sat down with incoming AG Pam Bondi and shared the results of such on his Instagram:

The worst person we know (well, one of them, anyhow) just made a really good point, and in other news, down is up.

In any case, this would be a massive win should Ticketmaster and Live Nation get taken to task for the exorbitant fees and ongoing overreach in the live event game. Granted, it’s fair to say that those of us here at Nu Metal Agenda trust gas station sushi more than we do most politicians, but we will have to wait and see what happens with this one.
