Prominent internet music critic Anthony Fantano has declared victory in his lawsuit against Falling In Reverse frontman Ronald Radke. This declaration comes in the form of a video titled "He Sued Me (I WON)", uploaded to Fantano's personal channel.
For those uninformed about the lawsuit between Fantano and Radke, check out our previous coverage here.
Fantano begins by stating he had been rather radio silent about the whole ordeal for a reason, lest he give his accusor ammunition, or his real goal, attention. Throughout the runtime of the video, Fantano outlines the general proceedings of the lawsuit and the hilarity of details surrounding it. Some highlights include how Radke dressed up as Fantano for Halloween and accused Fantano of "reading sex books to 2nd graders", how Radke tried hiring Fantano's ex-wife (yes, you read that right), how he ended up paying Fantano's legal fees, how he initially sued the wrong Anthony Fantano, and even how Radke 's legal team ludicrously claimed that the real reason Fantano's videos were so damaging was because Radke really wasn't famous at all.
This comes after Radke himself claimed that his band outsells both Sleep Token and Ghost, two of the biggest metal bands in the world, despite him presenting no actual data to back the claim up. Radke has also gone on the record to claim he's an instrumental part of Warped Tour. Not really indictive of a person who isn't famous, no? Towards the end of the video, Fantano also mentions plans to make a follow-up video, reacting to Radke's video "I LOST MY LAWSUIT TO ANTHONY FANTANO".
I do think there is something to be said about an independent music critic winning a defamation lawsuit against a famous musician, as it's a victory for free speech as a whole. David has triumphed against Goliath once again.
