Jeffrey Nothing (ex-Mushroomhead, Purgatory) Reveals Cancer Diagnosis, GoFundMe Started By Daughter Mea

Our thoughts are with former Mushroomhead co-vocalist Jeffrey Nothing (nee Hatrix) at this time, as he has revealed his cancer diagnosis in a Facebook post on Tuesday (January 7th). His daughter Mea has started a GoFundMe campaign to help raise funds for his treatment, as he “may have to stop working during treatment,” to say nothing of the horror show that is the American healthcare system.

The campaign description is to the point, reading:

My dad has recently been diagnosed with Cancer, just months after losing my mom to the same thing. Due to this, he may have to stop working during his treatment.

Anything means everything, Thank you.

This news is especially devastating given recent events in the Hatrix family. Mea’s mother and Jeffrey’s wife Stacy passed away in April 2024 from cancer. Jeffrey’s ex-bandmate Waylon Reavis held a GoFundMe to cover funeral expenses and raised over $17,000 in the process.

Hatrix has been involved with the band Purgatory as of late, as well as having announced his own project inspired by his former band Mushroomhead. He would clarify that the project is “not gonna be rewriting ‘Bwomp’ and ‘Sun Doesn’t Rise’ over and over” and that this new band would “have its own fingerprint.” He would go on to plug Reavis’ new band A Killer’s Confession and say that “Waylon and Jman will have you covered.”

If you wish to donate to the GoFundMe to help Jeffrey Nothing with his treatment and resulting expenses, the campaign can be found here.
