Nu-pop aficionado Demi Lovato is on a roll. Following the release of last year’s HOLY FVCK which saw the Disney alum return to their rock roots and a highly praised collaboration with Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda on Scream VI soundtrack theme "Still Alive," landing them a place in our “10 Nu-Pop Tracks You Need to Hear” list, they have announced a brand new full-length release entitled REVAMPED which is set to release on September 15th.
This announcement comes hot on the heels of their re-imaginings of hit singles "Heart Attack," "Cool for the Summer," and "Sorry Not Sorry," which infused the soaring pop choruses with crunchy guitars and an undeniable bite in their now matured voice. REVAMPED serves as more than just a compilation, as the singer asserts in an Instagram post this past Friday, that “Breathing new life into the songs that played such a huge role in my career has allowed me to feel so much closer to my music than ever before.”
Using established material to reintroduce Lovato to the casual listener as well as returning fans with a look and sound far more representative of where their taste and vision lies in 2023 is ingenious. If the remaining songs are as strong as what we’ve heard so far, we can expect an album of wall-to-wall bangers this September.
