It is almost time for Bandcamp Friday, where the independent music platform foregoes their share of revenue to put more money into the pockets of its users. This artist-friendly initiative began during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to make up for lost touring revenue, and it went over well enough to become a recurring fixture, amassing an estimated $120 million in additional revenue for its artists according to a press release.
Chances are, many of the artists we feature here on The Nu Metal Agenda have pages on Bandcamp, save for the heavy hitters and major label darlings. As such, it's encouraged to explore, pick up some music (digital or otherwise) and merch if you're able. If you're short on funds, don't worry, as Bandcamp have announced the full slate of Bandcamp Fridays for the year:
- March 6th
- May 1st
- August 7th
- September 4th
- October 2nd
- November 6th
- December 4th
