Slipknot To Begin New Writing Sessions in 2025

Clown states the sessions as likely to take place towards the end of next year.

With Slipknot doing a 25th anniversary victory lap this summer and a brand new powerhouse drummer installed in Eloy Casagrande, the question of when fans can expect new material from the band has naturally arisen.

In a recent interview with Alternative Press, the band referenced a possible timeline for writing sessions, citing Casagrande as a potential source of inspiration.

“Eloy is such a natural writer. I think he’s going to take us to some places we haven’t been in a while,” Taylor says. “I’ve got a lot to say, and I’m looking forward to expounding on a lot of different things.”

According to the same piece, discussions of possible producers have taken place. Clown states the sessions as likely to take place towards the end of next year.

“Somewhere between 2025 and mid-2026, there’s gonna be writing. I think it’s gonna be sooner than later. Maybe we’ll be in the studio in the later part of 2025. There’s no expectations. No one’s in a rush, but we’re not going to blow it off, either.”

The band's deal with Roadrunner Records was concluded with 2022's The End, So Far and last year's contract fulfillment-vibing Adderall EP, which means an opportunity for the band to work with a fresh label, or even to strike out and produce the record independently. Addressing that possibility, Clown had this to say:

“I won’t sign a seven-album deal. But could we do one-offs or two? I don’t know. Am I interested in doing it ourselves? Well, that’s a lot of fuckin’ work. Could we do it? Yeah. Could it be beneficial for the band? Of course. Is it going to be 10 times more work? Absolutely.”
