YOUR LIGHT FADES AWAY is the nu-est EP from Orlando, Florida’s Moodring. Previously, two of the three songs, “BLACK_WAVE” and “WOULDYOUWAITFORME,” were released accompanied by a music video and visualizer respectively in anticipation for the EP’s release. Now, it’s fully out with a third track “SHI=DEATH.”
The band’s instrumentation feels vast and dense, accentuated by creative electronic blemishes amongst the hefty production tone that gives this EP an ethereal voltage. So when the breakdowns hit, it feels like smacking against the ground after being tossed around in a hurricane.
Hunter Young’s singing throughout all three tracks gives a vibrant combination of clean vocals that are invited through its dreamy production, and intense screaming that erupts back with the force of a volcano.
YOUR LIGHT FADES AWAY is a short, sweet execution of dense as hell nu metal that delivers in spades.
