The last week has been a foundation-shifting one for All Elite Wrestling, as in just two shows, a debut, callback, and a title change all took place thanks to newest signing Tommaso Ciampa. The former NXT Champion answered the TNT Championship open challenge put forth by fellow Ring of Honor legend Mark Briscoe on Wednesday's Dynamite, with the two facing off on Saturday's Collision. The "Psycho Killer" (Qu'est-ce que c'est?) took the win and the title, immediately catapulting Ciampa into the upper echelon of the All Elite roster.
Part of this debut came in the form of "My Shadow Knows," the theme penned by AEW's composed Mikey Rukus and featuring Joe Altier on vocals, bringing the singer of Brand New Sin into the mix. Rukus and Altier have worked together previously on "New Room, New View," the AEW theme for Paul Wight, known to many wrestling fans of a certain age as The Big Show, with Altier and Wight having their own history with BNS supplying Wight with his theme "Crank It Up" through much of his WWE run.
There's a groove amid the darkness and ominous chanting, with a twist of Southern gothic rock menace as well. In a tweet, Rukus revealed that he worked directly with Ciampa on the theme and "banged it out in a day and a half." It took even less time for the song to become an earworm, with the line "my shadow knows my story" being a vocal stim for wrestling fans like "choo choo" has for K-pop Demon Hunters.
