Upcoming Horror FPS 'The Bornless' Announces Collaboration With Slipknot For The Band's 25th Anniversary

Slipknot are no strangers to the video game world, between several soundtrack appearances including the Guitar Hero franchise, WWE 2K19, and The Sopranos: Road to Respect. The band was also included as playable characters in the popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game Smite during the We Are Not Your Kind album cycle. This year has been their most prolific in the video game world, with Slipknot-inspired cosmetics making their way into both Dead by Daylight and Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance.

The Bornless, an as-yet-unreleased action-horror FPS by Cathedral Studios in which players can “face off against other players, summon demons, and build factions in a Lovecraftian world,” has announced a collaboration with Iowa’s finest in a new trailer for the game. The narrator makes plenty of references to the band’s song titles and lyrics, including “Pulse of the Maggots,” “The Devil in I,” “Before I Forget,” and “Psychosocial,” though strangely, the trailer doesn’t feature any characters dressed as members of the band or any visual nods to their music videos.

As the game is still in development and seeking playtesters (see the link below), it can be assumed that more will be revealed in time. The timing of the announcement isn’t coincidental, as Slipknot begin their UK tour in Leeds tomorrow, December 14th, as part of the festivities for their 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut album.

Check out the trailer for the collab below. The game can be wishlisted on Steam here.
