A Perfect Circle have finally released the music video for their hit single, "Starless." The track, which debuted all the way back in May, made it to the top of the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay charts dated October 3rd. The last time the band made it to #1 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart was in 2003 with "Weak And Powerless," the lead single from their sophomore album, Thirteenth Step. "Starless" is the second single since the band returned in 2024 with "Kindred" off the Sessanta E.P.P.P. with Puscifer and Primus.
Filmed by Jon Vulpine and Justin Jones and edited by Jake Johnston, the video consists of footage taken from the band's two-night stint at O2 Academy Brixton in London, England, on June 3rd and 4th, where "Starless" made its live debut.
Fabricated darkness has me / Fight or flight my turn of mind / Lost in all the lies and madness / Horror has me acting blind / Seeking, begging, imploring / I wake up to the lord of light / Surely, reason will survive this / Curable sicknеss, isn't this? Isn't this?
Eagle-eyed viewers may notice guitarist James Iha is conspicuously absent from this live footage. At the time of filming, Iha was performing stateside with Smashing Pumpkins. Greg Edwards (Failure, Autolux) is touring with the band in Iha's stead. Fans may recall Failure's former touring guitarist, Troy Van Leeuwen, was in the first iteration of A Perfect Circle before joining Queens Of The Stone Age in 2003.
Starting November 25th in Mexico City, A Perfect Circle will kick off the next leg of their world tour with special guests Puscifer. In April, the band will embark on their recently announced North American tour with support from gothic/post-punk veterans The Cult and—you guessed it—Puscifer. Tickets and info available at APerfectCircle.com. Finally, the band just got added to the lineup at Sonic Temple on Friday, May 14th. More details to be announced soon.
