LA Industrial rock outfit HEALTH have dropped the embargo on their digitized cover of Deftones' "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)". For a long while it remained only available as a Spotify session; now it is available on all streaming platforms.
The song is a sublime rendition of the dreamy nu metal classic, combining elements of droning, electronic ambient wall with a pummeling industrial metal breakdown in the outro that gives the song a new identity of its own, one that swaps out the savage blissfulness and frantic edge of the original with something slinkier and seedier, almost akin to a haunted dancefloor. It's a darkly danceable cover well worth the listen.
