Alien Ant Farm are back, and they just released a new version of an old classic in the form of "Actitud." The track is a reworking of "Attitude" off their Platinum-selling Grammy-nominated breakthrough, ANThology. While the underrated original had a fair amount of Latin influence, this new version is a complete reimagining from the ground up, complete with horns, strings, and (mostly) Spanish lyrics.
The Riverside rockers previously reworked the tune into the Bad Brains-inspired "Bad Attitude" back in December. If these two renditions are any indication, this new era of the band is off to a rousing start. Fans may recall back in September when the band joined Judge & Jury Records, the label co-founded by Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (Hoobastank, My Chemical Romance, P.O.D.) and Three Days Grace drummer Neil Sanderson. Whether is the new label or the opportunity to flex some underused musical muscle, these new recordings have a palpable sense of excitement and energy.
Following a show in West Hollywood and the first of two shows as part of the newly revived Sick New World, Alien Ant Farm will kick off a US tour with fellow nu metal stalwarts Cold in May. On July 19th they'll play the third day of INKcarceration in Manfield, Ohio. After that the band will embark on an EU/UK tour with special guest Eville through July and August.
