Once upon a time, Deftones guitarist Stephen Carpenter wasn't so odd about touring abroad, as evidenced by Pinkpop Archive's recent posting of Deftones' full set from the 2006 festival. Just a few months before the release of their album Saturday Night Wrist on Halloween, the band rocked Landgraaf, Netherlands, with a special guest appearance from Max Cavalera, who led Soulfly at that same year's festival.
It's also a special kind of bittersweet to see the band's original bass player Chi Cheng do his thing, laying down backing vocals on songs like "My Own Summer (Shove It)." Rest in peace, Chi.
The setlist was as follows:
- Korea
- My Own Summer (Shove It)
- Beware
- Hexagram
- Feiticeira
- Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)
- When Girls Telephone Boys
- Around the Fur
- Headup (with Max Cavalera)
- Bloody Cape
- Change (In the House of Flies)
- Root
- Nosebleed
- 7 Words
- Birthmark (with "7 Words" reprise)
