After just over a month of build, ChRocktikal, the new band fronted by Dreamcatcher vocalist Siyeon, has released We Break, You Awake, their first full-length. As such, one of the members of the "face of rock in K-pop" has taken her first step towards frontwoman stardom, following on from her original band's UAU subunit, as well as rapper Dami's solo debut "Chequered Flag" from late last year.
Leading the charge for the album cycle is "Peace," a driving rock anthem. Siyeon's voice soars and snarls as needed, with Lee Won Seok's guitar work chugging things along. The rhythm section of drummer Je Gwan Woo and bassist Lee Jun Young keeps the four-on-the-floor groove going, providing a beating, nay thumping, heart for this energetic debut.
All told, this is one hell of a first impression made by Siyeon and her new project, showing no signs of taking it easy in light of Dreamcatcher's hiatus, which was announced in the spring of 2025.
Check out the music video for "Peace" below, and a fair warning for any gay panic caused by Siyeon's kissing the camera at the end:
We Break, You Awake is available now via Dreamcatcher Company and Kakao Entertainment.
