Netflix's 'Devil May Cry' Anime Boasts Even More Nu Metal on Official Soundtrack

Evanescence, Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach, Crazy Town, and even more bands from nu metal's pantheon.

If the trailers didn’t garner enough interest, Netflix Geeked’s recent post about the season one soundtrack for the Devil May Cry anime shows it’s once again gunning to be the representation for nu metal within the medium.

It’s already known that Evanescence wrote a whole new song for the show and that two massive hits from Limp Bizkit and Papa Roach were featured in promos. The updated graphic shows Rage Against The Machine’s “Guerilla Radio” and a controversial nu-metal classic, Crazy Town’s “Butterfly”, will be included. Two songs from the Devil May Cry games will make an appearance, “Devil Trigger” and “Bury the Light”, but they’re getting a new coat of paint in the form of remixes from Power Glove. The electronic duo also feature on another song on the list, Gunship’s “Ghost”. Additionally, Green Day’s got a mystery song on the tracklist as well. And if that’s not nearly enough, the CD saying “season one” leaves us wondering if the possibility of another season would push the nu envelope even further.

The full season of the anime is set to debut on Netflix this Thursday, April 3rd with a total of eight episodes.
